The video for Lowlands, second single from the debut album of Belgian band Roscoe, is the disturbing story of a boy embroiled in a brutal world of streetfighting for money at the behest of his father. It’s powerfully told by Norman Bates – that’s a new team comprised of Inti Calfat and Dirk Verheye, two Brussels-based directors who teamed up six months ago.
Inti and Dirk shot the film in and around Bucharest in Romania over three days. It’s tough, gripping, and all-too plausible – with an excellent performance in particular from young Adrian Bunea playing the boy trained to fight.
